My Gingersnaps do flatten, but they are still relatively thick. They look like disks approximately about 1/3" thick.

It's very hard to say why yours might not have turned out the same way. Many factors affect outcome, including how precisely the recipe was followed, specific ingredients used, oven temperatures, etc. If the cookies taste good and the recipient enjoys their gift, I'd say they are a success regardless of whether they flatten or not.

I made these last night as a gift. I am not a fan of ginger so worried they did not come out right. They did not spread out as I expected but stayed more of a ball shape. I hope this is normal. Any clues to keep me from being concerned? I read another recipe that said they do not spread out if not chilled first and this was a personal preference. Tell me what yours look like!

I love you emails. They really are informative and I love hearing of your adventures.

God is so good. I have just gotten over cancer for the 3rd time. I am on Chemo and doing very well. I have quilted more in the past year then my whole time quilting. It actually relaxes me. Thank you for the recipe. I always make candy and cookies to give to the pastors and their families and the ladies in the church office. God bless you! Jean

I have seen these earlier and wanted to make them with my granddaughter. But I have not been able to find them on your site. I’m happy that you show them again. Thank you. I also love reading your Thought for the day. Karin from Norway
